War in Ukraine: Close Putin ally expresses displeasure at defeats before him

According to the Washington Post one of his closest associates Vladimir Putin expressed dissatisfaction with the development of the war in Ukraine, before the Russian president.

As the publication claims, there is strong resentment over the recapture of territory from Ukraine, a feeling that now also prevails in Vladimir Putin’s close circle of associates. The report cites sources from the American intelligence services and emphasizes that the disagreement of the associate of the Russian president had to do with the mismanagement of the war effort and the mistakes of the military leadership.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, in a statement to the same newspaper, did not deny the existence of disagreements within President Putin’s inner circle. “It is not a sign of schism,” he said characteristically, stating that he was referring to arguments about internal issues.

This disagreement and resentment comes in addition to the recent criticism of the Chechen leader, Ramzan Kadyrov, who recently reported that a top officer should be demoted to a private because of his mistakes. Kadyrov himself, however, was promoted to major general by order of Vladimir Putin.

Also, an official of the occupied territories from Russia reported that Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu should have killed himself by now because of his mistakes in the Ukraine war, while the founder of the mercenary company Wagnercalled the leaders of the Russian military “garbage”.
