the essential
The beautiful story of the Lot en Meule Bleue festival continues on its path started in 2018 before gaining momentum over the years to reach an artistic peak this year 2022, on September 8, 9 and 10. A summit, indeed, because the names of Grand Corps Malade, Hoshi or even Black M and Trois Cafés Gourmands are on the bill… and the blue millstones on the road.

Popular: the word sticks to the skin of the Le Lot en Meule Bleue festival, which pushed the popularity slider even further this year by including the names of artists capable of attracting all audiences.

Since its creation in 2018, the festival has wanted to reach all generations and has succeeded. If Grand Corps Malade, Hoshi, Black M, Elmer Food Beat and Tibz and all the guests this year largely contribute to raising this event among the best festive and musical events of the moment, it is also because from the beginning his team knew how to promote its major originality, its trademark: the blue millstone which has worn so many generations on its padded seat… or not, depending on the model.

It all started with a private initiative in 2018

Jérôme Galleyrand, drummer of the group Les Flagrants Délires, one of the pioneers of this great adventure, takes a look in the rear view mirror and dusts off the legend of this blue machine like the path traced since the year 2018 by a group of passionate. “It was first of all a private initiative, very playful, which wanted to bring this machine from the past back to life through the roads of France. The vintage side was very popular”, underlines Jérôme.

The recreational and original aspect of the initiative has attracted many and it has grown over the years and ideas. The blue wheel was presented in Paris and even rolled on the Champs Elysées, then on the mythical circuit of Le Mans where one does not expect this type of machine.

After Le Mans, a tour of France on a moped

Then the blue millstone embarked squarely on a tour of France. “The goal of the game was to cross the most picturesque departments. We, the Flagrant Délires, found ourselves at the heart of this ambitious and very refreshing program as we like them. Our group was on the menu for this tour.”

The first stage in Lot in what would then make the engines purr under the controlled designation of origin “Le Lot en Meule Bleue” was born under an inevitably blue sky, in 2018. “That year, we organized the Rocamadour-Saint-Cirq-Lapopie liaison and the singer Gérard Blanchard, who hadn’t sung for several years, took care of the musical part. It was a real click” remembers Jérôme.

A click for exceptional years. 2019 with a return to the Le Mans circuit and a fiery concert with Les Flagrants Délires and Patrick Sébastien, in front of 12,000 people. 2020 will have been the Covid year. White year for the blue millstones.

Jones, Capéo and other stars on the roads of the Lot

2021 is the year Claudio Capéo, Michael Jones and other artists on the festival stage who announced a year 2022 as it is conceived today with a concept that holds up.

The Lot of Good Days association is now writing the new chapters of this great adventure summed up by Jérôme Galleyrand at the throttle of the Lot en Meule Bleue with his brother Julien, but also Fredéric Decremps, Frédéric Atlan, Jérôme Prévost, Christian Valette. .. the strong links in the chain of millstones definitely made to last and stand the test of time as easily as they will cross the Lot.
