“He is in a good moment. I think he has worked very hard, he has been in [Cleveland], working locally, making sure you stay physically up to date. So now he just has to catch up a little bit in the meeting room,” Stefanski added.

The investigation against the Browns quarterback

On August 18, the NFL and the NFL Players Association reached an agreement on the Watson’s 11-party suspensionafter it was accused by more than two dozen women of sexual assault and sexual misconduct during massage sessions. Watson too was fined $5 million and has had to undergo a mandatory treatment program.

During the summer, Watson accepted settle 23 of the 24 lawsuits against you. Two other women filed criminal complaints against Watson but did not sue him.

Two Texas grand juries declined to bring criminal charges against Watson earlier this year.

But Sue L. Robinson, an independent judge appointed jointly by the league and the players’ union, found that “the NFL has met its burden to prove, by a preponderance of the evidence, that Mr. Watson engaged in a sexual assault.” Robinson also concluded in her report that Watson’s behavior was “appalling” and “predatory”.

Deshaun Watson denied the accusations against him

Watson ha repeatedly denied any wrongdoing and has said that people have not been interested in hearing his side of the story.

“I will continue to defend my innocence, just because, you know, settlements and things like that happen doesn’t mean a person is guilty of anything,” he said on August 18 after the settlement agreement.

“I feel like a person has an opportunity to maintain their innocence and prove it, and we proved it from a legal standpoint, and I’m just going to keep moving forward as an individual and as a person,” Watson said.
