Revel. Tribute to Déodat-de-Séverac at the church organ

As part of the European Heritage Days and the 150th anniversary of the birth of the composer born in Saint-Félix-Lauragais, Déodat de Séverac, the association Les Amis des Orgues de Revel, in partnership with Les Amis de l’Orgue Rabigny de Saint-Félix, organizes an organ concert with Jean-Pierre Baston, in the Notre-Dame de Revel church, this Sunday, September 18, at 5 p.m.

It was in 1856, in a church completely remodeled and enlarged in 1829, that a 10-stop choir organ was installed, built by Théodore Puget, organ builder in Toulouse. In 1861, Théodore Puget transformed the instrument into a large organ with 24 stops, 3 keyboards and a pedalboard. Remaining silent for many years, this beautiful 19th century instrument, listed in the inventory of historic furniture in 1998, was restored in 2011 by Gérard Bancells and can once again resonate in the Revéloise church.

Free participation in the concert.
