Event show on Saturday evening at the Surgié estate in Figeac. The site on the banks of the Célé welcomes the Compagnie Carabosse and its fiery creations for the launch of the season of the Astrolabe and Derrière le Hublot.
To launch its new season of shows, the Astrolabe invites the public to the Domaine du Surgié on Saturday evening, where last season ended with the now traditional Magnific Picnic. The cultural services of Grand Figeac are joining forces for this unprecedented kick-off with Derrière le Hublot, the cultural association based in Capdenac-Gare which is offering a new stage in its artistic escapade Travers on the way to Saint-Jacques-de- Compostela.
A “capital” meeting, free and open to all, is scheduled on the banks of the Célé with the burning of the Surgié domain illuminated with a thousand lights by the Compagnie Carabosse back on the territory. This company, which travels the world with its poetic machines, made an impression four years ago by setting the GR 65 in Faycelles on fire with its fiery creations. Some 4,000 people enjoyed this magical spectacle during an exceptional evening in September 2018.
Access forbidden to cars
A crowd at least as large is expected this Saturday evening at Surgié. Access to the site will be prohibited to vehicles as well as the main axes nearby (faubourg du Pin, Allées Victor Hugo as well as the RD 840 from the Capelette roundabout) from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. The cultural services of Grand Figeac and the municipality recommend that the public favor soft transport and go to Surgié on foot or by bike. A traffic plan will be proposed on site.
The festivities will begin at 6 p.m. with, as an appetizer, the musicians of the Cie Du Coin and their turbulent theatrical fanfare “Solennel Dada”. A food truck lane will be installed on the site. At 7 p.m., the joint seasons of the Astrolabe and Derrière le Hublot will be launched. Finally, the appearance of the Cie Carabosse is scheduled for around 8:30 p.m.
