IFA 2022: Roundup of the big tech show

After a three-year hiatus due to the pandemic, IFA Berlin is back in full swing as the world’s leading trade fair, with a focus on sustainability, ‘smart’ device connectivity and Smart Home solutions.

Despite travel restrictions still in place in some parts of the world, this year’s IFA hosted more than 1,100 exhibitors from 46 countries across 151,000 square meters, making it one of the biggest tech events of the year.

The overall attendance at IFA 2022 was also great. More than 161,000 visitors came to IFA Berlin during the five days of the event. Many exhibitors reported an unusually high number of business meetings held within the framework of the exhibition.

IFA attracted a strong media presence with over 2,500 journalists ( was there!) converging on Berlin to cover the event in over 100 countries. Digital channels such as IFA Virtual, the new IFA App and all IFA social media platforms were in high demand, garnering more than 1.6 million impressions. The videos, which were streamed on IFA channels, reached more than 11.8 million views.

Greece was represented at the event by the following companies: MAJAR-Matzaridis Bros SA, MORRIS HELLAS and Roller – Theofilos Kappatos SA.

It is noted that IFA GLOBAL MARKETS, which took place for another year in Hall 9 and has established itself as an integral part of the exhibition, a B2B meeting platform, designed exclusively for trade visitors, had a special impact on visitors.

In the framework of the exhibition, the Conference of the “top-ranking thinkers & doers” of the sector, IFA+ Summit, was held, with the central theme “In the Face of Disruption – De/Globalization – The Universal Remedy?”. The IFA+ Summit brought together leading experts from business, politics and science to discuss the future of globalization – and de-globalization.

The two-day innovation conference SHIFT Mobility 2022 was an equally great success. In it, experts from the automation and electrical sectors discussed the future of mobility, i.e. how new technologies are changing rapidly and radically.

The fourth edition of BERLIN PHOTO WEEK welcomed more than 20,000 photography enthusiasts to Arena Berlin, while millions of interested people watched online.
