The creator, growing up in post-war Athens, enjoyed his days watching the cyclists hurry past him in the coastal neighborhoods of Attica. This fleeting image was the inspiration for the depiction of movement, through a profile figure whose hair was blowing briskly, holding airy scarves. In his work, the mythical heroes of antiquity become modern and at the same time eternal.

The “Bicyclist” of Hellinikon, as a modern hero, “opens” the way of Art for the Metropolitan Park of Hellinikon and constitutes the beginning of a wider collaboration with Greek artists.
