Corona virus: Thousands of cases and dozens of deaths every day in New Zealand, Vietnam, Malaysia and South Korea – iefimerida.gr

Thousands of cases of coronavirus are being recorded daily in New Zealand, Vietnam, Malaysia and South Korea, raising the death toll.

The New Zealand Ministry of Health announced today that in the 24 hours to midnight yesterday, 1,653 cases of SARS-CoV-2 due to community transmission were confirmed. The number of infections has remained consistently below the 10,000 daily level since early July. It also reported 12 deaths due to COVID-19.

The coronavirus is “galloping” in South Korea and New Zealand – Thousands of cases in 24 hours

Based on the ministry’s new way of calculating — it excludes those who succumbed more than 28 days after being infected with the virus — the official tally of victims of the new coronavirus pandemic in the Oceania state so far stands at 1,941 deaths out of a total of 1,738,209 laboratory-confirmed infections. The total number of deaths possibly due to the virus but not confirmed has reached 2,881.

254 patients with COVID-19 are being treated in hospitals, of which 7 are in intensive care units (ICU) or intensive care units (ICU).

Vietnam: Over 11 million cases since the start of the pandemic

Vietnam’s Ministry of Health announced yesterday Wednesday that 3,878 cases of SARS-CoV-2 were confirmed in the previous 24 hours, bringing the total to 11,428,632.

The tally of victims of the new coronavirus pandemic in the Asian country of 33 million inhabitants has reached 36,262 deaths out of a total of 4,797,437 infections.

Active cases fell to 27,076. 67 patients with COVID-19 are hospitalized in intensive care units (ICU), 38 intubated.

South Korea: 64 dead and over 70,000 cases in one day

The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KCDA) announced that 72,646 cases of SARS-CoV-2 were confirmed and 64 patients succumbed to COVID-19 in the 24 hours to midnight yesterday Wednesday.

The death toll of the new coronavirus pandemic in South Korea reached 27,313 deaths out of a total of 23,864,560 infections. The death rate remained unchanged at 0.11%.

Cases were down from 85,540 the previous day and from 81,555 announced last Thursday.

Over the past week, the rolling average of daily confirmed cases fell to 76,711.

Hospitalized COVID-19 patients in critical condition, a key indicator, fell to 493 (–28 in 24 hours).
