Angelina Jolie is responding with his own countersuit against his ex Brad Pitt for the wine business (Nouvel) that they previously co-owned together.
Angelina wants more of $250 million in damagesaccusing Pitt of “waging a vengeful war against her” since she filed for divorce in 2016.
“These counterclaims they expose the true nature of Pitt’s egregious misconduct. To be clear, it is Pitt, and not Jolie, Nouvel, or any of the other defendants, who has acted in a hostile, destructive, and illegal manner. Pitt’s behavior has caused serious harm to Nouvel.”they explain some documents that they have been able to obtain PEOPLE.
The lawyers they claim that Brad Pitt devised a hitherto successful plan to take control of Chteau Miraval, the southern French vineyard and home in which, in 2008, the couple bought a majority stake. They allege that Pitt now “froze Nouvel outside Chteau Miraval and treats like his personal fiefdom”in addition to wasting their assets, spending millions on other totally unnecessary projects.
“This is just the latest in a series of deliberate efforts to divert, recycle and reposition the truth of what happened in the last six yearsthinking that reasonable people would be misled by these obvious misrepresentations,” a legal source tells PEOPLE.
